Living slower lives with less belongings has been at the core of the brand’s philosophy since it’s beginning in 2013.

CERTIFICATIONS

Our leather manufacturers are Gold rated according to Leather Working Group (LWG) - which aims to promote sustainable business practices and create alignment on environmental priorities.

We cooperate with Flo-Cert and Fair Trade certified textile manufacturers for our woven and knitted clothing, which provide certifications of entire production cycle from fibre to finished garment.

Fjør Studios® was founded by award winning designer Marita Hegertun Hamran in 2013. A Norwegian 40 year old entrepreneur and mother of two with a profound love of handcraft in general and leathercraft in particular.

Hamran holds a degree in Fashion Design & Modelism from ESMOD Oslo and is self taught in leather craft.

Marita Hamran was awarded the Golden Needle award presented by Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit at the ESMOD graduation ceremony in 2008. With 15 years experience as fashion designer and Production Manager from the fashion industry in Oslo and Trondheim, Hamran set out to create luxurious leather handbag and accessories to women seeking to built a conscious and sustainable wardrobe.

Fjør Studios® is one of the first start-ups in the luxury accessories business focusing on ethically made leather bags and accessories.
